After reading the authoritative survey of New Zealand Drama Ourselves in Primetime by Trisha Dunleavy I was inspired to develop this site detailing New Zealand TV shows, as
it made me realise how great shows like Mortimers Patch , The Governor ,
Close to Home , and Under the Mountain seem to have been forgotten.
The
focus of this site is on shows from before the 1990s as many of these don't currently
have much of a presence on the web. If there is already a fan or
official site that details a show then a brief synopsis and a link to those sites does the job.
Each show should have its own topic, and if you add a
new show please insure the subject is in the form TITLE (Year
Produced).
If you have any information, memories, links or questions about
NZ TV shows feel free to add them to this site. I've left the comments facility open
to the public for a while to encourage your input, but expect I'll have to change it to registered members
only once the spammers discover the site.
Where a series is available on DVD from Real Groovy or
Amazon.co.uk , purchasing links are being added to the entry to aid you
in obtaining a copy of your favourite series and to help towards the
costs of this site. All series with such links are listed here .

Does anyone else remember this show? Karen recalls: I remember a children's programme in the late 1960's or early 70's called Button On, Button Off. It was hosted by an elderly gentleman
(who had a look of Colonel Sanders!) and some children. You could send
away for a button (badge) and I did receive one.
