Batman 100-Page Giant #4 (2018)
Brian Michael Bendis (w)
Batman: Universe Pt 2 The Riddler has stolen a rare Fabergé egg, but who was it for? Batman must chase him-and the egg-halfway across the world to find out, and the first stop is its last owner, Jinny Hex
A new Hex for young adults by... middle aged guys.
In 2019 DC announced a new teen focued imprint to be known as Wonder Comics, the flagship of which was to be Young Justice, written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Patrick Gleason, which teamed Robin (Tim Drake, who Bendis called the best Robin
), Impulse and Superboy (Connor Kent, the 1990s version of the character) with a number of original characters, including Jinny Hex, a descendant of DC western character Jonah Hex, and Teen Lantern, a young girl from Bolivia who has figured out a way to hack the power battery of the Green Lantern Corps. Sources (see below) reported Bendis describing her as Jonah Hex's great-great-great-great-granddaughter.
Jinny had no idea of her lineage, but it was thrust upon her when she discovered a strange ray gun: She will have Adam Strange's ray gun and a trunk full of old DC stuff/weapons
. I know there has been other Hexes in the world, but is there a lineage?
Bendis asked DiDio prior to writing. Then he sent me a panel of a baby. The rest is history.
Long time Hex readers might recall that Jonah mother was Virginia "Ginny" Hex.

The Other Decendants
Hex
Superboy #54, 55 (1998)
The first appearance of the new female Hex, a former supermodel-turned-mysterious-shooter.
The folks at rec. arts. comics. dc. uni. universe described her as a busty red-head ex-supermodel with a fashionable
scar, riding a dragon-esque DNalien (called Grokk) which is all the back
story we get so far. Apparently she channels the spirit of Jonah Hex into
herself and is able to fire energy bullets out of empty guns. In these appearances
she seemed to be having flashbacks to Hex in a former life. This is a plain weird idea, but kinda entertaining as well. »more»
