Torrance, Kirk

Former Commonwealth Games swimmer Kirk Torrance reinvented himself as an actor in 1994, earning a degree in Performing Arts from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School.
He wrote, directed and performed his first play Strata at Taki Rua Theatre, for which he won three Chapmann Tripp awards for Outstanding New Playwright, Most Original Production and Best New Director.
On film he is known for playing the character Holden in the feature film Stickmen and Noble in The Dark Horse.
