O’Hara, Madge

Her job with the N.Z.B.S. was to study make-up techniques for television production, carrying out research in the field so that she could teach others who form the make-up team in the studio.

At the beginning of 1960 she went to Sydney to study the art of television makeup, and after she returned she worked in the Auckland studio where she made up the ballerina, Beryl Grey, for her appearance on the first programme to be shown in New Zealand. She also attended the Howard Morrison Quartet who performed on the same evening.

A large amount of her time was spent lecturing at the Channel 2 studio in Auckland.
