The best of the world's modern music with film of the most talked-about acts from around the world
First scheduled at times like 11pm Wednesday (30/10/1976), Monday nights (77) and later Saturday afternoons (1977) when it included Red Hot Peppers, Rod Stewart, Buchman Turner Overdrive, and The Rolling Stones.
Over the years it was hosted by Barry Jenkins (Dr. Rock), then Phil O'Brien, Karen Hay and lastly by Dick Driver,
It eventually moved to it's iconic Sunday night slot just before the Sunday horrors, it had a more alternative bent than the prime time music chart shows.

For 12 years (1976 – 88) music TV show Radio With Pictures was the leading light for new cutting edge music in New Zealand.
With no internet and UK music mags sea freighted to us over a six week period it was the only source of up to date new music releases. Its many nationwide followers would gather in front of the TV on a Sunday evening in anticipation of what great new bands they would be discovering next.
The 36 classic tracks featured on this collection are a great reflection of the quality of post punk and new wave bands that graced our screens on a weekly basis
