One of the most interesting aspects of contemporary Christianity is the renewal of interest in the place of the Holy Spirit. This is sometimes called ‘Pentecostalism” but it has other names too, such as the Charismatic Renewal.
The purpose of the programme “Tongues of Fire” was to show how this movement has manifested itself in New Zealand. Among the people interviewed are those who had experienced the phenomenon known as “speaking in tongues” as well as people such as the Rev. W. F. Houston and Archdeacon Prebble.
The front man for the programme was George Andrews and the producer was John Terris.
