The inaugural Pan Am Clipper Cup yachting series was sailed in Hawaii during August 1978. Seven countries, including the USA, were entered in the competition, the overall title of which went to "Monique" of New Zealand and the team title to Australia. This film captures the dramatic moments of this international sporting event and features one of the highlights of the series, the duel between two of the heavyweights of off-shore racing "Ondine" and "Kialoa"
