A collection of satirical dances based on the poems of Edith Sitwell was performed for television by the New Zealand Ballet. The ballet contained nine dances from different countries was first performed in 1931. Frederick Ashton devised the original Choreography, with music by William Walton, this was the first time it had been specially performed for television.

It was reproduced for the New Zealand Ballet by Brian Ashbridge, assisted by Dorothea Zaymes. The principal dancers where Jon Trimmer and Elena Carter, a guest dancer from the Mexican National Ballet.
