If you are trying to find copies of a show your best bet would be to see if TVNZ or TV3 hold copies. If you or a family member were in it be sure to mention that as running off copies of archive material comes at a cost and that connection might get you a reduced rate.
The Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision has custodianship of the TVNZ archive as well as other film and moving image archives so it's worth searching their catalogue. Their website has recently (July 2024) been updated announcing that after a four years moratorium they are once again servicing some personal use requests:
This is subject to rights clearances and whether we have digital copies available for sharing. Contact our Customer Supply team for more information through the make a request form.
NZ On Screen has a growing range of material available online so you might be lucky.
TVNZ has partnered with Getty Images to offer a meager online catalogue and administer requests to license footage for use in a public setting.
Feel free to leave a request here on KiwiTV, it just might get seen by another visitor who can help.
If the show you are looking for is a more recent one try and find the production company (check back issues of the Listener or newspapers) and ask them about getting a copy.
